Stories and highlights
There's always something to celebrate at our school! From exciting events to proud moments and everyday wins, here are some of our highlights.
A year at our school
Our First Olympian!
We are incredibly proud to celebrate a historic moment for our school — our very first Olympian!
Ruby T represented Australia in Women’s Park Skateboarding at the 2024 Paris Olympics, finishing an outstanding 11th in the world.
We also proudly acknowledge our talented alumni:
- Liv L, who competed in Women’s Street Skateboarding
- Sariah P, who took the field in Women’s Rugby 7s
We had so much fun cheering these student-athletes on, and the support from our wider school community made the celebrations even more special. Their achievements on the world stage are an inspiration to us all.
Sanda Gakuen Visit
Each year we are delighted to welcome students from our sister school, Sanda Gakuen in Japan. Together, we share the beauty of our local surrounds — exploring Narrabeen Beach, Palm Beach, the iconic Barrenjoey Lighthouse, and Taronga Zoo.
During their visit, students join us in classes and immerse themselves in Australian culture. We cook Kangaroo Bolognaise, enjoy music-making with traditional instruments, and host a lively BBQ. In return, our guests teach us some of their cherished Japanese traditional games, creating lasting memories and friendships that cross borders.
This annual exchange is a highlight for our school community — a wonderful celebration of culture, learning, and connection.
CHS Open Boys Football Champions!
Narrabeen Sports High School has been crowned the CHS Open Boys Football Champions in an unforgettable grand final at Cromer Park!
In a nail-biting match against Endeavour Sports High School, our boys fought with determination and came away with a 1–0 victory. The winning goal — scored late in the second half — sent the crowd into raptures!
With 200 Narrabeen students cheering from the stands, the atmosphere was electric, and the energy carried our champions across the finish line.
A huge thank you to our dedicated coaches — Jimmy Snedden, Mr Mitchell, and Ms Sobanski — for their guidance and commitment throughout the campaign.
An incredible effort, outstanding teamwork, and a victory that will go down in Narrabeen history — congratulations to our champions!

We are incredibly thrilled and grateful that NSHS Alumni, Class of 2024, Lili B recently returned to school to donate her Canberra Raiders NRLW 2025 debut jersey for display at Narrabeen Sports High School.
Lili has gone from strength to strength in her rugby career, and it means so much that she wanted to give back to the school that supported her during her senior years.
During her time at NSHS, Lili balanced schoolwork, ACL surgery and rehabilitation, and credits the support of her teachers Miss Sobanski, Mr Newman, Mrs Brisby and Ms Shepard for helping her through that time and supporting her journey.
We are incredibly proud of you, Lili, and so thankful for your generous donation. Your jersey will be proudly displayed to inspire future Narrabeen students for many years to come.

We love seeing our alumni give back to the Narrabeen community!
School Dux, Class of 2025, Thomas van der Plaat recently reached out and volunteered his time to assist Head Teacher of the Faculty of Arts, Mr Woodford, with the sound systems at our recent P&C Car Boot Sale.
Thomas credits NSHS with helping him achieve a Band 6 in Entertainment Industry, which has opened doors for him in the production world. While he is currently studying Robotics at UNSW, he is also working with a production company, gaining incredible real-world experience.
Recently, Thomas worked as a stagehand at Ed Sheeran’s Sydney concert, assisting with the pyrotechnics, and has also worked on events featuring Good Charlotte and Linkin Park.
We are so proud of you, Thomas. Thank you for giving back to NSHS and for being such a fantastic role model for our current students.

These statements recognise outstanding achievements, milestones and contributions made by individuals, schools and community organisations.
Narrabeen Sports High School is proud to have its successes recognised in the NSW Parliament through Hansard Recognition Statements. These acknowledgements celebrate the achievements of our students, staff and wider school community, while creating a permanent public record of their contributions and accomplishments.
Cameron Briggs - 5 May 2026
Ms JACQUI SCRUBY (Pittwater)—Cameron Briggs from the Manly Warringah Kayak Club had an extraordinary performance at the Australian Sprint Kayak Championships in Perth. Cameron achieved a clean sweep of gold medals in the Under 14 K1 events, winning the 200 metres, 500 metres and 1000 metres. This is a remarkable result that firmly establishes him as the number one ranked Under 14 male sprint kayaker in Australia. This level of dominance across all distances is rarely seen and speaks to both his natural ability and the discipline he brings to his training. Cameron is part of the Narrabeen Sports High School Olympic Pathways Academy and the club's Poseidon Programme, where he has developed rapidly under the guidance of dedicated coaches and support from his family. His success is not only a personal achievement but an inspiration to other young athletes in our community. Cameron is already setting a standard for excellence, and his achievements highlight the strength of local sporting pathways. Pittwater will be following his journey closely as he continues to develop and represent our community with distinction.
Olivia Lovelace - 14 May 2026
Ms JACQUI SCRUBY (Pittwater)—Olivia Lovelace is a perfect example of this community spirit and pursuit of excellence. Refining her skills at Narrabeen Sports High School, 'Liv' quickly became one to watch in skateboarding. After picking up a skateboard at the age of nine, she never looked back. Liv's journey began as a young skater drawn to the freedom and creativity of the sport — qualities that still define her approach today. Through years of dedication and resilience, she rose through the international rankings, becoming a standout athlete on the highly competitive Australian Olympic skateboarding team for Paris 2024, where she finished 21st overall. Her path has not been without setbacks. Her ambition to compete at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics was unfortunately derailed by a serious arm injury. But even during this incredibly challenging period, Olivia returned to competition with determination, finishing strongly in qualifying events to secure her place on the world stage in 2024. The next time you find yourself impressed by some outstanding skating, keep a lookout — you may spot one of Australia's brightest and most ambitious skaters kickflipping off a ramp or grinding on a rail. Olivia, you are an inspiration to Pittwater.
