Narrabeen Sports High School is proud to be a member of The NEST â the Narrabeen Elanora Student and Teacher Collaboration.
This unique partnership brings together Narrabeen North Public School, Elanora Heights Public School, Narrabeen Lakes Public School and Narrabeen Sports High School to create a connected Kâ12 learning pathway for students across our local community.
The NEST is an innovative, purpose-driven and community-focused initiative that provides students with opportunities to participate in engaging learning experiences beyond their own school. Through collaborative projects and shared activities, students develop problem-solving skills, teamwork, communication, and critical and creative thinking while building connections with peers and teachers across our partner schools.
Together, The NEST strengthens the transition from primary to secondary school and supports students to thrive throughout their educational journey.
What is The NEST?
Through The NEST, Narrabeen Sports High School works closely with our partner primary schools to provide students with rich, authentic learning experiences that extend beyond the classroom and support a seamless Kâ12 educational journey.
As part of this collaborative partnership, students benefit from:
- engaging cross-school learning experiences that broaden their knowledge and perspectives
- opportunities to learn from the expertise of teachers across all four NEST schools
- leadership programs that build confidence, responsibility and teamwork
- academic enrichment activities designed to challenge, inspire and extend learning
- stronger connections with their local school community, fostering a sense of belonging from primary through to secondary school
- early exposure to high school learning, facilities and experiences, helping students transition confidently to Narrabeen Sports High School.

Supporting a seamless transition to high school
A key strength of The NEST partnership is the strong Kâ12 pathway it creates, supporting students as they transition from our partner primary schools to Narrabeen Sports High School.
Throughout their primary years, students participate in a range of shared learning experiences, mentoring programs, enrichment activities and visits to NSHS. These opportunities allow students to become familiar with the high school environment, meet future teachers and classmates, and experience the many academic, sporting and co-curricular opportunities available before they begin Year 7.
Our students also play an important role in the success of The NEST by acting as mentors and role models for younger learners. Through leadership programs and collaborative activities, NSHS students develop confidence, communication and leadership skills while helping primary students feel welcomed, supported and excited about their transition to high school.
Together, these experiences foster a strong sense of belonging and connection across all four NEST schools, ensuring students arrive at Narrabeen Sports High School feeling confident, prepared and ready to thrive.
