Coffs Harbour hosted the 2015 World Cup Touch Tournament from 29th April - 3rd May. The grand final for the women's open division between Australia and New Zealand ended in a convincing victory to Australia 8-4.
Hannah D an HSC student here at Narrabeen Sports High School was part of this winning women's open division team. We are so proud of her efforts both on and off the field. Captain Louise Winchester, a stalwart of the Australia women's open team since 2001 became emotional after the match. "It means the world. I could not be any prouder of my girls, they stood up and they stood so tall today," Winchester said holding back tears. "To do it in front of our family and friends in Australia, it means the world. We were expecting a tough game and we prepared for that. New Zealand is just a quality side and they have showed that in the last three years, especially this year."
Congratulations to Hannah, she can now add the title of World Cup Champion to her long list of achievements.
